Our Story
Bluebird Lane began at the kitchen table.
My mother is 91 and lives in an assisted living community. She has always loved a good card game — the laughter, the friendly company around a table. But when we looked for a rule book she could actually use, we couldn't find one. The print was too small, the instructions too dense. Nothing felt made for her. So I decided to make one.
As a retired nurse, I've spent my life caring for people — and I've seen how something as simple as a card game can bring comfort, connection, and joy.
Bluebird Lane books are made for the way people really play. Large print you can read without squinting. Beautiful illustrations that show you the rules, not just tell you. A quick-start guide so you can begin right away. And gentle memory blurbs and fun facts to spark stories of happy times with family and friends.
Our hope is simple: to bring people back to the table. To give grandchildren and grandparents something to share, and to help neighbors in assisted living and nursing homes find friendship over a familiar game.
Let's Play Cards! is only the beginning. More card games and activity books are on the way, along with thoughtful extras to make time around the table even easier. And because comfort matters, our books come in both paperback and easy-to-hold spiral editions — gentle on the hands, and made to lie flat.
Welcome to Bluebird Lane. Pull up a chair.
